I know you're salivating at the prospect of this traditional dessert... (as you should!).
Also known as "pain doré" in the French speaking part of Canada, the pain perdu is as much appreciated by little children as older people.
The main advantage of this recipe is its quick preparation and the low overall cost resulting from a short ingredient list. The pain perdu can be eaten with chocolate or fruits (strawberries, raspberries or bananas for instance).

INGREDIENTS (for 3 slices)
25cl of milk
75g of cane sugar
3 eggs
6 sliced bread (may be stale)

PREPARATION
Whisk the eggs with the sugar and milk.
Dip the slices of bread.
Cook them in a frying pan in butter and brown them on each side.
Serve hot s is or with chocolate, fruits or sugar.
